Keep checking back for our latest news.....

February 2012 One of the Erin team has been working closely  with a wonderful group of knitters who have been beavering away to make coats for the kennel dogs in Ireland patiently waiting their turn.

As you can see,  the results are fantastic, thank you so much from us and the Irish kennel hounds!

January 2012   At Erin Hounds, we come across hounds that particularly need our help due to injury, neglect or medical conditions.

It was particularly rewarding, therefore, to start the new year by finding loving and understanding homes for two of these dogs who have so much love and happiness to give. A massive thank you goes to their new families  without whom, these dogs would still be waiting.

One of these, poor Harper broke his leg in a race and the break was left untreated by his owner as Harper was no longer of any value. The break healed leaving a slight deformity but otherwise Harper was well. Thanks to a lady who was prepared to overlook this imperfection, he now has a loving home in Cheshire where he regularly meets Erin hounds  for walks and fun, having become a member of the local "BBB ( Big black boy)  club".

September 2011 - Greyhound Racing in India

A campaign has been launched to stop greyhound racing being developed in India with the set up of a new proposed greyhound track in Punja.  If commercial greyhound racing were set up in India it is inevitable that many thousands of greyhounds will suffer and die as a result. For more on the plans see here: http://articles.timesofindia.indiatimes.com/2011-07-24/chandigarh/29809238_1_biggest-race-greyhounds-dog

Erin Hounds along with many other animal welfare organisations are urging their supporters to sign the petition below and to lodge a protest with the Prime Minister of India on his website http://pmindia.nic.in/feedback.htm and with the Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab, Sardar Sukhbir Singh Badal by emailing secretarydcm@gmail.com.

August 2011 - You can now donate directly to Erin Hounds using paypal! Look out for the yellow Donate button on the menu bar. Even the smallest donation will help us look after the hounds, with every penny going towards their care...

**Special appeal** For anyone living in the Runcorn/Widnes area it would be a tremendous help if someone could give Sue occasional help with transporting of dogs between kennels and vets. It would just be occasionally but to have an extra pair of hands would be such a great help.
